Private Pilot Certificate

The Private Pilot Certificate is the primary foundation for many aviation goals. It allows qualified pilots to act as pilot in command and carry passengers in a private capacity, not for compensation.

Instructor time is $65/hr. Each ABEC aircraft is $100/hr. Schedules are anytime by request on Flight Circle.

FAA Requirements

Common starting requirements.

  • No minimum age is required to begin training.
  • At least 16 years old to solo.
  • At least 17 years old to earn a Private Pilot Certificate.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • FAA minimum flight time is 40 hours, though many students average 60 to 75 hours.
